Carter Canyon

The John Merritt Homes entry in the 2017 Greater San Antonio Builders Association (GSABA) Parade of Homes in the Canyons of Scenic Loop marked a high point in the company’s building history. Around 14,000 attendees got a chance to visit the home and the other nine in the Parade and chose our entry as the People’s Choice.  Also, the panel of judges selected the home as recipient of their Best Floor Plan Award.

As you approach the home into the cul-de-sac you are able to view through the 6’ steel front door the foyer and the swimming pool with a negative edge giving full view to the hills seen from the backyard. The dark steel roof anchors the light stucco and grey dry-stack rock exterior. The landscaping is contemporary with geometric rock bed borders and simple native plantings.

Intersecting the foyer is a sloped-ceiling gallery that connects the Study and Master Suite to the left with the dining and living area to the right and with the full-height windows has full view of the pool and back deck area.

The open living area is wrapped by floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors that offer full views of the rolling hills to the east. Natural stone floors complement the gray, white and black cabinets and Cambria Quartz counter tops. Opposite the kitchen is the unique eye-catching full-service bar opening with awning-style custom windows onto the back patio entertainment area.
